The Italian Garden

Within the gardens, visitors are able to experience the wonders of a traditional Italian garden, stroll around an Oriental garden and explore the wooded areas and wildlife gardens.

A number of the plants seen on the stroll around, as well as other specialist varieties, can be found for sale in the Garden Centre alongside a limited range of gardening accessories, books and giftware. Combined turnover for the Garden Centre and Tea Room is in excess of £500,000 annually.

Hadlow College students are actively involved in all elements of this, from helping to maintain the Gardens and renovating existing structures to designing new gardens and opening up the meadow areas. Within the Garden Centre the students gain valuable work experience, learning the different roles, such as plant maintenance, front-of-house and displays, carried out on a day-to-day basis. The EPOS system provides an excellent source of data for trend analysis and further embedding of mathematics.
