Our final year students on the University of Kent BA (Hons) Photography course, delivered at West Kent College, held their successful final show - TTL: Through The Lens - at a prestigious central London gallery, Hoxton Arches, from the 18th to the 21st May.
The venue, a 2,500 square foot, two-room, high-spec exhibition space, offered a perfect showcase for the work, and highlighted each individual’s talents and preferred area of photography. From fashion to still life, documentary to landscape, street photography to fine art, the show held interest for all.
The three-year journey has allowed the students to further develop their craft, and hone their skill set. Students know where their talents lie and will be pursuing careers accordingly.
Exhibitor and Chair of the Exhibition Committee, Stella Trench, whose work this year focuses on an abandoned canal in Kent, drawing attention to disappearing topographies, said: “We had a wonderful opening on the Thursday evening, hosting around 150 people, with many public visitors over the weekend, especially on the Sunday.”
"With the help of a major sponsor, great financial support from the college, donations through our GoFundMe page, other donations, cake sales and students own contributions, we made our fund raising target for the show expenses. We’d like to thank everyone for their huge generosity."
